Cat’s Eye (1992) is an abstract piece that was choreographed for four men and four women at Rambert Dance Company. The music, for two clarinets, trumpet, trombone, harp, piano, viola and violoncello, begins quietly before developing into a more discordant piece.
The curtain rises to reveal a solo dancer standing in front of the white panel with black semi-circles. As the dance develops, combinations of dancers enter and exit the stage. The piece finishes with the solo dancer on stage winding his way to the back and disappearing into the darkness.
